In the game of Asteroids you are a starship commander whom is on a mission to clear all trading routes of asteroids which crash into cargo ships causing great financial losses. All trading has been postponed as far as space goes, that is until you clear everything in their routes. Be sure to keep and eye open for the various flying saucers which are trying to halt the growth of the human species in space, they are armed with computer guided missles.

CONTROLS:

Start
Press the S key on your keyboard to begin playing a new game anytime.

Thrust Forward
Press the Cursor Up key on your keyboard to thrust your ship forward.

Thrust Backwards
Press the Cursor Down key on your keyboard to thrust your ship backwards.

Rotate Clockwise
Press the Right Cursor key on your keyboard to rotate your ship clockwise.

Rotate Counter-Clockwise
Press the Left Cursor key on your keyboard to rotate your ship counter-clockwise.

Fire Cannons
Press the Spacebar on your keyboard to fire your weapons at your target.

Pause/Resume
Press the P key on your keyboard to freeze and continue playing.

Hyper Space
Press the H key on your keyboard to vanish and reappear using hyper space.

Toggle Sound
Press the M key on your keyboard to toggle sound on and off.

Toggle Graphics
Press the D key on your keyboard to toggle graphic details higher or lower.

SCORING:

Large Asteroids
Each large asteroid eliminated earns you 25 points to your total score.

Small Asteroids
Each small asteroid eliminated earns you 50 points to your total score.

Flying Saucers
Each flying saucer eliminated earns you 250 points to your total score.

Enemy Missle
Each enemy missle eliminated earns you 500 points to your total score.

Extra Players
Each time your total score reaches 5000 points you earn an extra ship.
