USSR June 1 1928 Born Georgy Timofeevich Dobrovolskiy - pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR. Made one space mission in 1971 on board of "Salyut-1" space station. Died during the landing of "Soyuz-11" spacecraft in June 30th, 1971.
USSR June 1 1950 Born Gennady Michailovich Manakov - pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR. Made 2 space missions in 1990 and 1993.
USSR June 1 1951 Approved an Order of USSR Minister of Weaponry to start industrial production of "R-1"/SS-1a/Scunner missiles with Sergey Korolyov as Chief Designer at factory #586 in Dnepropetrovsk city at Ukraine.
