"Zenith-3SL" Space booster.


"Zenith-3SL" space booster is a modification of a "Zenith-2" space booster with a new upper stage "D" and some modifications of first and second stage engines. "Zenith" space booster was modernized for the Sea Launch program - join project of Russia, USA and Ukraine with the participation of Boeing, RSC "Energiya", Kvaerner and "Yuzhnoe" Design Bureau. Purpose of such booster is to launch commerce satellites on the orbits using sea-based platform.

Manufacturer of the booster are RSC "Energiya" and DB "Yuzhnoe".

First launch was conducted March 27th, 1999. Until July 19th, 2000 there were 4 launches including one accident.
