"Zenith-2" Space booster.

(Industry designation 11K77, Western designation SL-16).

"Zenith-2" space booster was designed according to the Decision of Communist Party Central Committee and Soviet of Ministers of March 16th, 1976. Design of the booster was conducted at "Yuzhnoe" Design Bureau under supervision of Designer General V.Utkin. Main factory of the booster production is "Yuzhny Mashinbulding Plant" in Dnepropetrovsk city. The purpose of such booster was to launch satellites to a Low Earth Orbits.

First test launch of "Zenith" was conducted April 13th, 1985. Until September 25th, 2000 there were 34 launches including 6 accidents and 2 semi-accidents.
