"N-1" Space booster.

(Industry designation 11A52, Western designation SL-15).

Design of "N-1" space booster was initiated by the Decision of Communist Party Politburo of May 13th, 1961. Design conducted at Special Design Bureau #1 under supervision of Designer General S. Korolyov. Special Design Bureau #1 also was a main facility for production of that booster.

Main purpose of such booster was manned moon program. "N-1" Space booster had three stages and upper stage.

First test launch of the booster was conducted February 21st, 1969. Until November 23rd, 1972 there were 4 launches, all of them were accidents.
