"Cosmos-3M" Space Booster.

(Industry designation 11K65M, Western designation SL-8).

"Cosmos-3M" space booster is a modernized version of "Cosmos-3" space booster. It was designed in Omsk city at the Production Association "Polyot". Main difference with "Cosmos-3" booster was modernized engines. New engines of second stage can throttle and have second ignition.

First test launch of the "Cosmos-3M" booster was conducted May 15th, 1967. All together until July 14th, 2000 there were 422 launches, including 18 accidents and 7 semi-accidents.
